| Footnote : | At 0345 GMT "Spind" observed a torpedo passing from starboard to port. 2 minutes later a detonation was heard. - The Norwegean steamer had lost contact to convoy OG.71, which had altered it's zig-zag course at 23h00, and so become a "straggler". For this reason "Spind" could not have been a target of U-564's attack against ships which were sailing in the bulk of the convoy. |
