Poser the U 202 en route to Central Atlantic during the crossing of the Bay of Biscay the boat was attacked by British aircraft, U 202 only suffered minor damage and continued its patrol, the boat was attacked again by depth charges from an Allied aircraft off Trinidad, the attack inflicting severe damage limiting its ability to dive forcing her to return to base after 49 days. Completed one war patrols, 73 days. One war patrol without return, 34 days. Damaged 1 cargo ship 7.191 GRT, damaged 3 tankers 26.545 GT, sunk 1 tanker 7.989 GRT and sunk 1 cargo ship 1.815 GRT.) |
